Host Chris announces to the nine remaining Bachelorettes that this week there will be two group dates and an individual date. There will still be the opportunity for solo time with Andy after the group dates, but all of them will be going with Andy by private jet to Lake Tahoe.
The ladies have one hour to pack for the trip. Everyone is incredibly excited, except for Bevin, who is upset that her injury means she'll be sitting out all the snow activities. Tina frets that her reserved nature in a group setting is going to hurt her chances.
A date box -- a tray full of poker chips -- arrives for Nicole, Danielle, Stephanie from Kansas, and Bevin. The note reads, "Put your party dresses on and let's see who's feeling lucky!" Bevin retreats to the bathroom, crying in frustration at how hard it is to do anything with her hurt ankle. Amber, however, thinks she's just "milking" it for sympathy, especially since she isn't even using her crutches or brace anymore.
Meanwhile, Andy is wondering why they're taking so long to join him since they're going to miss watching the sunset over the lake as he'd planned. But all the other girls pitch in and help Bevin get ready and they're in time for the sunset after all.
Andy says this is the most romantic location he can think of and he asks the women for their picks. Bevin can't think of one and explains to the camera that she's too exhausted for small talk. Andy picks up on her mood and asks for a minute alone with her. She ends up crying in his arms.
The other women are not pleased with this development, particularly Nicole, who also thinks Bevin is exaggerating her injury for attention. They can see that Andy and Bevin are having a moment, even if they can't hear Andy asking Bevin if she feels what he does and that there's an "electricity" between them. He gives her a quick kiss, which the other women can't help but see. "This is getting weird!" says Stephanie from Kansas.
When Andy and Bevin finally rejoin the other three, Bevin notices the jealous looks and starts to worry that her competition is going to stab her in the back. They all go to hit the casino where Andy blows on the women's dice before they roll.
Now it's Stephanie's turn to be down in the dumps, and Andy, on cue, takes her aside to see what's up. "She's obviously upset about something," Danielle says, pointedly looking at Bevin. Alone with Andy, Stephanie tells him she hasn't been getting much sleep but wants to make sure he knows she still wants very much to be here. He reassures her that he's glad she's here too and that he hopes he gets to meet her family.
Danielle comes in to check on them, making sure she gets the next alone time with Andy. She says she's gotten homesick at times, but that the connection she feels to him is worth it and praises him for being a gentleman throughout. She tells him she gets butterflies whenever she's alone with him and he kisses her.
Back at the hotel suite, an envelope arrives for Tessa, Kate, Tina, and Stephanie from South Carolina. The note says, "Let's go play in the snow. Love, Andy."
Amber is thrilled to be getting the one-on-one date with Andy but also incredibly nervous that he might realize she's not the one and send her home.
Because she wasn't able to go on a date last week, Andy selects Bevin to spend more time with after the group date. Nicole questions whether it's just the concerned doctor in Andy that prompted him to choose Bevin.
Andy carries Bevin down the hallway to his hotel room. Cozied up on the couch together, he confesses that he used to be a nerd who always did the science fair in high school and that his pipe dream is to be an astronaut. Bevin tells him she's a nerd too and they kiss.
When the other three return without Bevin, Amber decides Bevin is her biggest competition. She thinks Bevin will do whatever it takes, including sleeping with Andy, to get ahead.
She's not far off, because Bevin asks Andy if he wants to "give her a checkup." He asks her where she'll be a year, from now, if he's in Hawaii. "Hawaii," she answers instantly. He reveals to the camera that this is the most emotional and intimate time he's spent with any of the women so far. He walks her back to her suite and they kiss again in the elevator and then again just outside the door of her shared suite.
The next day is the second group date and it's time to hit the slopes. It's Stephanie from South Carolina's birthday and she's thrilled to be here. She's convinced she and Andy have a connection that none of the other women have. It's Tina's first time skiing, but she's excited to try something new. Kate has never skiied before either, not being a fan of snow or being cold. Andy dubs Tessa, the only experienced one, a "ski bunny" and hops on her skis with her. He takes her aside and she tells her he feels a real connection to her. She admits it's starting to get tough and emotions are running high among the women, some of whom are getting "catty."
Stephanie says the same thing as she and Andy make a snowman together. She says she knew what she was getting into with this competition. But then she warns him about that there are some girls in the house who are attention seekers or too immature for him and to keep his eyes open. He tells her he thinks he knows who she's talking about. She tells the camera she doesn't have a problem naming names but she doesn't want to look like she's out to "throw anybody under a bus." She reveals to the audience, but not to Andy, that Amber is the attention seeker she was talking about.
Andy is disturbed by his conversation with her, especially since she implied that some of the girls are annoyed with him and comparing notes on whom he's kissed.
Andy doesn't get a chance to have a one-on-one with Kate on the slopes, so he asks her to join him in the gondola. She jokingly turns him down at first. He asks her about the situation in the house and she says Amber claimed Andy tried to kiss her, but she turned her cheek. Andy tells her that never happened. She also dishes that Stephanie from Kansas was upset over his time with Bevin. He asks if she feels that any women are not here for the right reasons. She says she's "50-50" on Amber, but that Stephanie from South Carolina has "molded" herself into what she thinks Andy wants her to be and that she's not the kind of girl you'd take home to your parents.
Even though it's Stephanie's birthday, Andy chooses Tina to spend more time with at the end of the ski date. It seems keeping quiet pays off!
Back at the hotel, Stephanie from South Carolina broods about how long it's been since she's had time alone with Andy. Kate has no sympathy. She tells Amber that she thinks Stephanie's obsessed with him Out of sight of Stephanie, Kate copies her and pretends to sulk by the window, to Amber's amusement.
Alone with Andy, Tina confesses she's just not as competitive as the other girls. He tells her he appreciates that she's not putting on a show for him and that makes her sexy.
Meanwhile, Amber is asking everyone's advice on how to get rid of onion breath before her date with Andy, which is driving all the other girls nuts. Tessa openly rolls her eyes when Amber asks what she should wear on her big date.
At an outdoor dinner, where Andy promises to keep Tina warm if she gets cold, she asks him if he considers himself high-maintenance. She asks about the yacht and the car and he assures her those aren't his and he's a very modest guy who drives a Jeep in real life. He holds her in his arms while they watch the sun set over Lake Tahoe. He calls his time with her "just the medicine I needed" after the day's drama.
Andy goes to pick up Amber for their solo date. He dismisses all the rumors about her as "secondhand information." They head to a private cabin, where they get cozy by the fire. She sees a rose laid out and starts to worry that she's going to say the wrong thing and get sent home.
She tells him everyone on the ski date said they had a good time and he tells her he heard some strange things today. She picks up on the fact that some of the things were about her and tells him she's puzzled but that she's here for the right reasons and that she really likes him. At the end of the night, he feels she's put his doubts to rest. They kiss in the hot tub and he tells her he has something for her. He gets out to present her with the rose, which earns him an even bigger kiss.
Everyone is back in Los Angeles for the next rose ceremony. There's only five more roses to be given out tonight.
Kate apologizes for speaking her mind in Tahoe but Andy tells her he thinks she has a "heart of gold" and that he respects her outspokenness.
Stephanie from South Carolina is wearing the dress with the plunging neckline that the other women vetoed for her yacht date with Andy. She proclaims it "smokin' hot." Nicole asks if that's going to help her and Stephanie says she's "90 percent sure" she's getting a rose tonight.
Meanwhile, Bevin asks Danielle and Kate if they think Stephanie's dress is appropriate and Kate says she thinks it's not even appropriate for a strip club. Kate mocks Stephanie again but this time Stephanie overhears her.
Alone with Andy, Stephanie from South Carolina gives him a big hug. She tells him she thinks Amber is a great person, but just not right for him. He tells her he doesn't know who to trust and this is all very "testing."
Andy tells Bevin that he missed her and she tells him she's been counting the hours until she could see him again and he kisses her.
Kate pulls Amber aside and says Tina told her, "Amber almost had sex with Andy last night." Amber is so distraught she goes off to cry.
It's her time to be alone with Andy next and she tells him that the girls are spreading rumors and she wants him to know it's not coming from her.
Tessa tells Andy that when she compares herself to the other girls who have strong feelings for him, she feels like she should leave. She tells him if he knows who he wants already, she doesn't want to get hurt. He tells her he doesn't know and she's one of the reasons why.
Host Chris arrives to announce it's time for Andy to make his decision. Andy gives roses to:
Tessa
Danielle
Bevin
Tina
Stephanie from Kansas
Kate, Stephanie from South Carolina, and Nicole are going home. Kate says Andy never saw the serious or intellectual side of her and that he "didn't know the first thing" about her. A tearful Nicole is totally blindsided, saying she has no idea what she did wrong. Stephanie says she's shocked and that she thought she and Andy had something special. She chalks it up to "stupid, little jealous girls who were running their mouth about me."
