Tonight's 2 hour episode begins with past overnight dates. We get to see clips of some of the past bachelors and bachelorettes and what happened on their dates. The only past bachelors/bachelorettes I don't remember them spending too much time with were Meredith/Ian and Bob/Estella. It seems like most of the other ones were interviewed, but we don't get to see either of those couples???
The 3 couples still together were interviewed more extensively. It was good to see where Sarah and Charlie, Mary and Byron and Trista and Ryan were today and how successful their relationships are. I guess 3 out of all the past couples is better than none!
Travis's 3 dates begin with Moana in Venice. Both are very happy to see each other. They walk to the Plaza of San Marcos and encounter hundreds of pigeons. This starts the day off on a high note with pigeons flying all over the place and landing on them. Both are laughing and having a good time.
After they leave the plaza, Travis takes Moana to a cafe and is very impressed when she speaks to the waiter in Italian. He tells her he had fun at her house and she says, "you mean when you were ambushed at my house". Travis tells her he wasn't ambushed, just tested. They seem to be getting along great.
After they leave the cafe, they decide to go on a gondola ride. You can't go to Venice without going on a gondola ride! The tradition is that you kiss as you go under each bridge...which of course they do As Travis and Moana talk, Travis tells the camera privately how happy he is with Moana and by what he says, it sounds like she's the one he's the most interested in.
That night they have dinner by candlelight and Moana pours her heart out to Travis. After they eat dinner Travis pulls out a card.....wow! Surprise!! It's a card inviting them to spend the night alone in a fantasy suite! They both feel like they need time together alone in order take the next step. She voices some concern that she's not having him exclusively and that he will be spending time with other women. Travis tells her that he's never cheated on a girlfriend and that he won't promise her anything that he can't deliver. She tells him she understands and they go up to the suite. He tells the cameras that he's more confused than ever...then the doors to the suite close.
On to the next date! Travis meets Sarah in Vienna. He's so happy to be in this historic city and is looking forward to their date. He feels like he has a great friendship with Sarah but he wants to see if anything romantic develops.
The two are happy to see each other and they hug. They go on a huge ferris wheel and instead of the traditional ferris wheel that seats 2, there are individual cars with seats and a table. They have wine and get see the city from above. Travis tells Sarah that he's excited about spending time with her.
After the ride, the two have a couples massage. Both feel very relaxed and get into a small pool called a floating pool. As they float on their backs and laugh, I still don't see the sparks. They seem like good buddies at this point. She tells the cameras that up until this point he gives her little pecks and that she hopes for a more romantic date that night.
That night they go on a carriage ride through Vienna. At the end of the ride they end up at the hotel for a romantic dinner for two. She tells him that she hopes she has the opportunity to see where this date can take them. As they begin to eat dinner Travis suggests that they leave the formal dinner, since neither of them likes to be formal, and take the food up to the fantasy suite.
Travis tells Sarah that he has a stronger friendship with her than any of the other women and he wants to see if there is more. She tells him that she is so different than the other women and that her intentions are different. She tells him that she is more settled in her life, just like he is. He respects her and is so glad that she managed to tell him why she is more right for him over the other girls without saying anything bad about them. He goes on to tell her that having her there has kept him grounded and that he needed her presence to make him focus and see things in a real way. The couple finally have their romantic kiss.
The final date is with Susan in the Alps. Travis voices concern on camera that Susan only says what she thinks he wants to hear and not what she really wants to say. They meet in the woods by a stream and they seem very happy to see each other. He tells her that they are going rock climbing and she tells him she's very excited...she seemed a little too excited to me As they are climbing she keeps saying how much she loves it...to me it sounds like she's trying to convince herself she loves it
They stop and talk on a ledge and Travis tells Susan he's skeptical about her pursuit of TV in Los Angeles. He wants to know if she's just a part of the show for the exposure and she denys those are her intentions. She's there because she really likes him.
Later they stop for some hot cider wine and Travis asks Susan about some things the other girls have told him. He tells her the girls felt like Susan was treating the show like a competition. When she came back from her first date she told the girls she had kissed Travis and they all felt like she was boasting that she had won. She denies that things happened like that and that she is sorry he had to hear it. On camera later she is pretty upset that the others put those thoughts into his head and that it isn't fair to her because that's not why she's there.
That night they have a private dinner by candlelight. He tells her he's glad she came to the alps and that it was good to finally get to be with her in a relaxed setting. He goes on to question her about how honest she's being and voices what he said said to the cameras earlier about her only saying what she thought he wanted to hear. She tells him that she's not doing that and goes on to pour her heart out to him. She tells him that she's falling in love with him and that she is ready for this no matter what anyone tells him.
When he brings out the fantasy card, she jumps at the chance to be alone with him. They have a huge hot tub and they enjoy some steamy kisses. Travis tells the camera later that he feels better about Susan and that he thinks she really does have feelings for him.
Back in Paris it is time for the rose ceremony. Travis is hurting because he is going to have to break someones heart. Chris greets Travis and shows him to a private study where he views video messages from each of the girls.
While Travis is watching the videos, Chris escorts the girls into the chateau. As Travis arrives you can tell that the girls are very nervous. Travis goes into a speech about how much he enjoyed his dates, blah, blah, blah...get on with it already!!
Travis presents the first rose to Moana! Susan looks really upset to me. Travis picks up the second rose and hesitates and calls out Sarah's name! I guess I had that one totally wrong!!
Susan hugs the other girls goodbye and Travis escorts her outside. After they sit down Travis tells her that she is am amazing person and that he's not certain he made the right decision. Susan asks him why her? Travis says he feels like their relationship was too formal and that he doesn't feel like he got to know the real her. She tells him she's sorry he feels that way. He thanks her for being a part of his life and he escorts her to the ominous black limo.
Once inside the limo, Susan isn't crying and looks very angry. She is mystified by his decision. She was dumped for being formal!! She's definitely more angry than upset and she's still not crying. Finally she's crying....just a little...and she says she doesn't get it!
Back at the chateau, Travis has a toast with Sarah and Moana.
Next week is the women tell all and the finale will be in 2 weeks! Stay tuned...
