The nine remaining Bachelorettes find out there's going to be a group date, a two-on-one date and a solo date with Lorenzo.
Host Chris introduces an opera teacher who selects who will go on the individual date. The women have to perform an opera aria -- in Italian! She declares Jami the winner, which means she gets to join Lorenzo for a glamorous night at the opera.
Lorenzo is excited about the selection because he thinks Jami is a lot of fun and has a great personality and loves music as much as he does. He's impressed when she walks in wearing a red satin gown with white gloves. It's her turn to be blown away when he presents her with diamond earrings and necklace worth $2 million from Chopard to wear for the evening. The other women can only watch in envy as Lorenzo puts the jewelry on her. True to form, Erica still thinks Jami and Lorenzo aren't compatible and that there's "no way" Jami is getting a rose tonight.
They drive through the beautiful Italian countryside to the opera house, where they are the only people in the audience. Waiting for them is a couch and champagne. Lorenzo asks Jami to show off her winning opera aria, so she gamely gets up on stage and sings it for him.
Back at the house, a small chest arrives with a few names taped to it: Sadie, Desiree, Jeannette, Erica, Jennifer, Lisa, and Gina. Inside are red and green grapes and an invitation to enjoy the Tuscan sun the next day. The women are all ecstatic, except for Erica, who's quite blasé.
In return for singing for him, Jami insists he tell her "something really good" about himself. He tells her how important his family is to him, and how difficult it is being apart from them and she talks about how her parents get along better now that they're divorced.
FInally the curtain opens, revealing opera singer xx (I couldn't catch his name!) and Lorenzo admits to an impressed Jami that he was in on the secret. He invites Jami to dance and she kisses him on the cheek.
He tells her it was the most romantic night of his life, but dancing with her was like dancing with his best friend. He doesn't want to hurt her, but he can't give her the rose. She appreciates his honesty but admits her ego and her pride are crushed. She says she really let down her guard with him and cries as he puts her into the limo that will take her home.
On the group date in Tuscany, Gina hopes Lorenzo notices her and Lisa is anxious about having to share him for the first time. After the wine-tasting, Jeannette makes her move and pulls Lorenzo away to sample grapes. He tells her she's hard to read, but he likes that about her. She says she's not comfortable vying for his attention but that she came on the show to find someone special and that she thinks he is special.
Meanwhile, Lisa tells the other women she doesn't find the setting romantic, not compared to her one-on-one date with Lorenzo. Desiree has to "bite her lip" not to tell Lisa off.
The only two women left at the house are Agnese and Erica, who are getting on each other's nerves. They open a music box from Lorenzo. Inside is a note that reads, "One rose. One stays. One goes." Agnese laughingly says the rose will be hers and Erica responds,"I don't think so, pregnant dog."
Agnese shrugs it off. She thinks Erica is crazy "and not so beautiful." Erica decides they need their beauty sleep for their date with Lorenzo. She explains that she can communicate with Agnese the best of any of the girls because "she speaks English slowly and with an Italian accent."
The mood in Tuscany changes when the girls come down to the pool that evening and see a single rose laid out on a pillow. "It's kind of nerve-wracking," says Desiree. Sadie takes Lorenzo aside and tells him she's saving herself for marriage; she doesn't want one of the other girls spilling her secret first. He says he would never have expected it, but he admires that she's waiting for the right person and gives her a kiss on the cheek and a hug.
Lorenzo grabs Lisa, whom he hasn't had any alone time with since their date at the Villa Borghese. Jeannette thinks Lisa has a "weird vibe," and that she can't be trusted. But Lorenzo obviously feels differently, because he asks Lisa if he can kiss her. He says he'd like to do it "again and again and again" but they have to get back. She's excited that her five-year-plan is right on track.
The women and Lorenzo frolic in the pool and then retire to his bedroom, where things get steamy once a game of Truth or Dare starts. Desiree is dared to feed Lorenzo a grape with her mouth and Jennifer has to drink wine out of his belly button. Sadie asks him which of the girls in the house he's already kissed. He says he's kissed all of them, at least on the cheek and Lisa is glad he didn't reveal their kiss because it would "just add more fuel to the fire."
The next morning, Lorenzo spends some time alone with Jennifer. He asks her why she became a teacher and she says she sort of fell into it but that she's found it very rewarding. She gets choked up, thinking of the kids she's missing. Before they rejoin the others, he gives her a kiss that's more than a peck but not quite the kiss he gave Lisa.
When it's time to present the rose, he wishes he had a rose for each of them, but he gives it to Jeannette. She's glowing, but Lisa admits she's let down. And Sadie begins to second-guess having told Lorenzo she's a virgin.
Erica is sure she's going to get the rose over Agnese, whom she doesn't consider "princess material." When they arrive at Lorenzo's, he says there's a change of plans. He was going to take them out on the town, but he's decided to have the date at his house because that's the best way to get to know someone. He lets them go into his closet and pick out something to wear to be comfortable, so they end up in his shirts and boxers. Instead of a fancy dinner, they have pizza with beer and wine on Lorenzo's bed.
Erica mentions the rose on the night stand, which is Lorenzo's cue to start making his decision. Alone with Erica, he asks if she feels she has a stronger connection to him than the other girls do. She says because she's been to Rome before, the most exciting thing about the whole adventure is him. She says she's "not going to name names," but she is dismissive of how wowed the other girls are by their first helicopter ride or their first time being in Rome. She says to ask anything he wants to know about her so that he can know who she really is, but he says he already knows.
To the camera, she says she thinks she's several notches above the other girls and that Lorenzo "needs to stop being a dumbass and show some interest in me."
Back at the house, the other women predict who Lorenzo will pick and they all choose Agnese.
During his time alone with Agnese, Lorenzo tells her he's astonished how much better her English is since their first date. Erica sneaks out onto the balcony and says hello but Agnese waves her away with, "See you later. Bye!"
It's time to present the rose to one of them. Lorenzo tells Erica she's beautiful and bright but he feels she's trying to be someone else to please him, so he's giving the rose to Agnese.
As he's leading her out, Erica tells Lorenzo she thinks he judged her on that first night when she said he wasn't compatible with Jami, which ended up being true. He says that she was so different from the first date that he felt that she was putting on an act.
Still protesting how unfair he's being and that he's been judging her from the start, Erica is driven away in a limo. Her last words to him, "I'm sorry you made a really bad mistake."
When they see whose luggage is being taken away, the girls proclaim, "Our drama queen is going home."
Alone with Agnese, Lorenzo shows her the lights of Rome from his balcony. She's happily nestled against him -- until the fireworks start! She's still holding the rose as he kisses her.
Lorenzo has four roses left to give. The one girl who doesn't receive a rose will be on a plane back to the U.S. that night. He starts off by saying they all have so many great qualities, and that tonight's rose ceremony will be the hardest one yet.
He presents Roses to:
Sadie
Lisa
Jennifer
Desiree
Gina is devastated but tries her hardest not to cry as she says her goodbyes. She says she was "ready to give him her everything" and that she doesn't know what he saw in the other six that he didn't see in her.
