Host Chris greets the Bachelorettes with the news that this week there will be one group date and two one-on-one dates. The women who get roses this week will also get a hometown visit to have Lorenzo meet their parents.
They are told that they're going to go into a private room and be asked two questions. There are no right or wrong answers, says Chris, but they will be judged on their candor and honesty. Their answers will be filmed and they won't know who's doing the judging until later. The two questions are tough ones: Who is the least deserving of becoming a princess? Who is the most insincere girl in the house?
Unbeknownst to the girls, the person who'll be selecting two of them for a one-on-one date with Lorenzo is Erica!
Lisa goes first. She selects Jennifer as the least deserving because "she's not that well-spoken and she's not that pretty without makeup on." She also names her as the most insincere person.
But Lisa is the choice of all the other girls: Sadie says Lisa doesn't deserve to be a princess because "she's the most selfish." The women say how they really feel about Lisa: Fake. Conniving. A backstabber.
Sadie starts to cry to the camera. "I don't like saying things about other people."
Lisa tells the other girls that in her interview she said, "Everyone deserves to be a princess."
They are shocked, even horrified, to see Erica walk back in, saying "What's up, pregnant doges?"
Lisa realizes, as the frontrunner, she won't get a one-on-one date. "It's a reality show. There are supposed to be twists and turns," she says philosophically.
Erica, moved by Sadie's tears, chooses her for the first one-on-one. Sadie receives a basket with a note that reads "Fly away with me for a day of pampering."
They are driven to an airfield, where Lorenzo is going to fly them both in a small plane! He even lets Erica fly for a while. He admires her adventurousness and thinks she'd make a great pilot and she says she's going to go get her pilot's license now. She's ecstatic over the flying and how they bonded over it. She says she's found something in Lorenzo she hasn't seen in other guys before. "He wowed me," she says.
That evening, they lounge in a thermal hot tub, drinking champagne. She tells him she's always thought pilots were hot. He is very attentive and flirty and she keeps expecting a kiss, but one isn't forthcoming. However, he says he has no doubts about whether or not she's getting a rose.
Back at the house, another basket arrives, inviting Desiree, Agnese, Jeannette, and Lisa on the group date. The note says, "Let the games begin." Inside are toga costumes. The girls are excited, especially Jennifer, who realizes she's getting the second one-on-one date.
Over dinner, Sadie tells Lorenzo how relieved she was by his reaction to her news that she's saving herself for marriage. He says there's nothing wrong with wanting to wait for the right person. He tells her that guys who've had a problem with her decision before "missed out."
She says she's noticed that he's been wanting to kiss her all day and that she's going to make it easy on him and pretend it's already the end of the date. He admits she was right and is only too happy to kiss her. He's also impressed by her confidence.
To keep her in his thoughts, she gives him a gift from her home town of San Diego, a Chargers jersey. He gives her the rose and says he'd love to meet her parents. She says she's on cloud nine. The camera pans away from a passionate kiss.
It's toga attire on the group date with Lorenzo. The activity for the day: chariot races! Partners Agnese and Jeannette win and they have to race each other. The final race is Lorenzo versus Jeannette, and if she wins, he'll have to fulfill whatever wish she makes. She wins, but she doesn't immediately know what she wants, except she really wants that rose and a hometown date!
Jennifer is intrigued by her date box, with a note from Lorenzo that reads, "In Rome, wishes really can come true. Let's feel the magic together." Inside the box is a black lace purse and inside that is a coin purse filled with coins. Sadie is enthusiastic on Jennifer's behalf, but privately says the situation is "challenging. I'm not really the best sharer when it comes to guys."
Lorenzo tells the girls that he decided on a toga party so that they'd have fun, and they can all relax because there's no rose on this date. They all jump in the pool and the togas come off to reveal bikinis underneath.
Agnese tells Lorenzo she's jealous that he went on a date with Sadie, and she'd very much like to have him meet her parents. He worries that he wouldn't understand her parents and vice versa, but she says she would interpret. He's still concerned because the Italians are so serious when it comes to marriage and daughters.
Meanwhile, Jeannette is wondering if this is all of a game to Lisa, since she's had her hometown date planned out for months. When she's alone with Lorenzo, Jeannette tells him her wish: That the next rose ceremony not be so stressful for him and that he just "enjoy the moment." Lorenzo privately reveals that he considers that a cop-out, but that he's still intrigued by her.
For his date with Jennifer, Lorenzo takes her on a horse carriage tour of Rome. For dinner, he picks a restaurant with a roof that overlooks Vatican City. He leads her there by blindfold, then takes it off to reveal the view. She's so overwhelmed, she thanks him with a kiss. "I feel like the luckiest girl alive," she tells the camera.
She says she's studying for her master's degree in counseling because she's always loved solving people's problems. He asks her to solve his biggest problem: "Why can't I have more of these nights?"
She responds, "Maybe you're going out with the wrong people."
"So if I keep going out with you, my problems are all solved?" he asks with a smile.
"I think so," she laughs. But then adds, "That's something you have to figure out."
Back at the house, Desiree and Lisa toss back tequila shots and discuss how hot Lorenzo looked in the white blazer he wore for his date with Jennifer. That leads to a brilliant idea: Jumping in the pool naked! To Jeannette's surprise, they streak past her and into the pool.
Lorenzo tells a beaming Jennifer that tonight has been one of his best nights ever in Rome and he'll always remember it. He hands her the rose and says he can't wait to meet her parents.
He has one more surprise planned: He takes her to the Trevi Fountain, a Rome landmark where people come to make wishes. She throws in the coins from the change purse and then -- in front of the crowd of tourists -- he kisses her. He later says he was so carried away, he didn't even realize they weren't alone.
For that next rose ceremony, there are four girls and only two roses left to give. Lisa wears the diamond earrings Lorenzo gave her at the first rose ceremony, to remind him of the initial connection that they had. She tells him she feels like their first date was "forever ago," but she understands that his dating all the other girls is part of the process and "it's totally okay."
Desiree tells Jeannette and Agnese that she's been skeptical of Lisa "from Day One," because she knows so much about this show and how it works. "I call her the Bachelor Guru," she says. She says thinks Lisa's just playing a game and that her heart isn't in it, unlike the rest of them.
Alone with Lorenzo, Desiree says she feels something for him, and he must feel some chemistry too, since she's the only girl left who hasn't had a one-on-one date with him. And she says she'd be proud to introduce him to her parents and that she'd love to spend the rest of her life with a guy like him.
Jeannette tells Lorenzo she couldn't tell him her real wish, because it wouldn't come true, and that what she did tell him was "the lamest thing ever." He tells her everyone else is in it for themselves and she should be too. She insists her feelings are sincere and that she would love to show him where she grew up.
While Agnese and Lorenzo talk, Lisa and Jennifer discuss how the two of them can't communicate, even after that romantic date with the fireworks. Lorenzo tells Agnese that no matter what he decides, he's enjoyed his time with her.
Going into the ceremony, Lorenzo says he know it'll be rough, but that he doesn't want six women in his life, he just wants one.
He presents a rose to Lisa and then to Agnese.
Desiree whispers, "d**n, I'm shocked." Later, she says, "I could have been great for Lorenzo. I could have been awesome. I would have taken great care of him." She criticizes Lisa and Agnese, whom she says don't deserve him.
Jeannette says she has no regrets: She met 27 amazing women and an incredible man.
