First, Lorenzo visits Sadie in San Diego. He meets her parents, Reed and Colleen, her sister Kelsey and her best friend Alexis.
Reed asks about the group date: "You don't normally date 10 women at one time?"
Lorenzo jokes, "I do, but they don't know about it." He tells them about how Sadie flew his plane and the family is very impressed.
Colleen thinks Lorenzo is very down to earth and likes how he actually makes eye contact. She asks him what qualities he's looking for in an ideal mate and he says he's looking for honesty, someone he can have a great time with, someone who can be his best friend, and someone he can trust.
Sadie says grace over dinner and notes that her parents are expecting her to find someone who "loves God and is looking for a serious relationship," so bringing home an Italian prince is pretty unexpected. She tells her best friend Alexis how much she cares about Lorenzo and that he makes her feel safe. Her mother is impressed that she trusts Lorenzo so much but also advises her to "guard her heart."
Lorenzo tells Reed, who couldn't be more different than Jennifer's father, that after meeting her family, he knows where Sadie got a lot of her best traits. Reed is touched and says he trusts Sadie's judgment.
Sadie takes Lorenzo out to Moonlight Beach, where they curl up by a bonfire. She says she doesn't think he needs to go to any other cities. He asks, "So I should just walk away and pick you?" and she says, "Yes!" They kiss and the camera pans away.
Lorenzo says he's impressed by how close Sadie is to her family. If he has any reservations, he doesn't say so.
Next up is Portland, to meet Lisa's family. She's still talking (privately) about her five-year-plan and that if Lorenzo choosing her would speed up her timetable, she's fine with that.
Unlike the other two girls, Lisa has her own house. She comes up with an activity for them to share: painting an Italian fresco on her wall. They playfully paint the fresco -- and each other.
Her best friend, Ally, shows up -- with a wedding dress! "I figured since you were in the final four you might need this," she says. Lisa agrees to try it on. Lorenzo jokingly asks Ally, "What's up with the prom dress?" And she says, "Come on now. It's a wedding dress!" She then spills the beans about Lisa's timeline, and that she's had it planned out her whole life. Lisa comes out in the wedding dress and Ally adds the final touch: a tiara! "You're a princess already," she says.
Lorenzo confesses to the camera that the best way to scare a guy off is to mention a timeline. And although he thinks Lisa looked beautiful in the dress, he was "a little freaked out by it," especially since he hasn't even met her parents yet. There are even wedding magazines piled on the table!
Meanwhile, Lisa is convinced that Lorenzo seeing her in the dress gave him inspiration, not cold feet.
She and Lorenzo go to her parents' house, which is more formal and upper-class than the other two families he's met so far. Lisa tells them about the wedding dress. Her father's reaction is "sweet," while her mother finds it "strange" and "a little scary."
Her father shows he's just as savvy about the show as Lisa is when he asks Lorenzo about the "hotel room key" handoff. Lorenzo assures them that that won't necessarily lead to anything but talking. Her father says that's what he's going to assume will be happening.
She shows her father the diamond earrings Lorenzo gave her and mentions they're worth $15,000.
Her mother, a Pilates instructor, shows Lorenzo how to do some vigorous crunches on the floor, which he gamely does. Lisa wonders why her mother is making Lorenzo do Pilates, and lets him off the hook. She says she's a little miffed at her mother, but also that it was hilarious.
He says goodbye, saying he'll see her in Rome, and she demands more kisses. She's thrilled that her parents approve, and hopes that the next time they see her, she'll be Princess Lisa Borghese. Despite the Pilates, Lorenzo says Lisa's family made him feel relaxed and amongst friends, but that he has concerns about Lisa's agenda.
Lorenzo then goes to Miami to met Jennifer's parents. He's expecting them to be protective since she's an only child who still lives at home. She takes him fishing and even though it's raining, he tells her it's more romantic than kissing in front of St. Peter's. She confesses that she's slow to open up, but that she does really like him.
They get no bites for a while, and then Jen snares a baby shark! She pulls it in, cuts the wire, kisses it goodbye and throws it back. He can't believe she caught a shark -- and that she kissed it! -- so he kisses her himself.
She brings him to meet her parents, Cheryl and Dennis, and dog Tiffany. Jen raves about the helicopter ride to the Mediterranean and Lorenzo praises her for her football skills. Since Dennis is a high school football coach, it's no mystery where Jennifer learned to catch.
Cheryl asks Lorenzo if the age difference bothers him and he jokes that Jennifer is a little old for him. She also asks if he thinks he's good enough for Jen, and he says he doesn't know that he is, other than that he's a goodhearted person.
Dennis wants to know if Lorenzo is ready to settle down. Lorenzo notes that he's not there to ask for Jen's hand in marriage -- yet -- but that he does want to find someone and start a family. Dennis takes Lorenzo into the den and shows him a rifle, saying "This is what I would grab for the individual who treated my daughter inappropriately." Lorenzo is understandably taken aback.
Meanwhile, Cheryl tells Jennifer she thinks Lorenzo is "adorable." And she admits she's surprised how deep the connection is between them. Lorenzo leaves with some reservations about her family.
Then it's off to Venice, to meet Agnese's family. She didn't get any sleep the night before, she's so excited about having him meet her family. She shows him the hospital where she was born, which is as beautiful and elaborate as all the buildings in Venice. She also shows him the church she wants to get married in.
Agnese takes him on a gondola ride. He tells her he missed her and that he can't imagine a more romantic spot. They kiss, and keep kissing throughout the boat ride.
He meets her parents, Paola and Roberto, and her brother Erico and her sister Angela. Lorenzo's Italian is limited, so Agnese translates. He asks if the family likes New York, and they say they've never been.
Fortunately, Agnese's father speaks a little English, so he Lorenzo can talk, man to man. Lorenzo tells Roberto he has "strong feelings" for Agnese, but he's not sure if Roberto really understands him. At the dinner table, even though Lorenzo can't speak the language, Roberto feels that "his Italian side came through."
After dinner, brother puts on some music and everyone gets up to dance. Lorenzo says the family made him feel extremely welcome. Lorenzo gives Agnese a lengthy goodbye kiss. He says that saying goodbye to her was difficult and that today was better than he could ever have imagined.
He prepares for the week's rose ceremony by looking at framed photographs of the four women. Tonight, he has three roses to bestow. He gives them to:
Sadie
Jennifer
Lisa
Agnese says her goodbyes to the other girls and then Lorenzo takes her aside and asks if she's okay. She dabs away tears as he holds her hand and explains why he had to let her go: the communication gap was just too big. "If it were another date, another time, another place, and I could speak Italian, I would still have you here."
She says she thinks he's right, but that it's only natural she's disappointed. She goes to hug him and starts to cry and he tells her she's starting to make him cry too.
He kisses her and puts her into the limo. "Buena notte, Agnese," he says. In the limo, she says she's glad she tried, at least. She thinks Lorenzo used his head more than his heart in sending her away.
Reed asks about the group date: "You don't normally date 10 women at one time?"
